The first meeting of the Puget Sound SharePoint Users Group was held July 19th. Joel Oleson and Christian Stark were the speakers, and they were amazing. There were 72 rabid SharePoint fans in attendance. Mike Blaylock is the President of the new User Group. Other board members include Bryan Hart, Bo Woronowicz, and myself.

It is expected that the annual (suggested) membership fee is $35, but for the first couple of months, there is a Charter Membership fee of $25. These fees go towards refreshments and materials and miscellaneous expenses involved in the running of the users group.
One minor difference with this user group is that we are planning on holding two series of monthly meetings. One meeting each month will be hands-on training, built around Virtual PC Images of SharePoint where different folks will lead the other attendees through specific configuration or development activities. And then, of course, we’ll have our general meeting each month. Watch the web site for the schedule as it gets updated.
