Portuguese Virus

<Disclaimer>First of all, I have to say, (In Spanish, because I don’t speak Portuguese)  — me encantan Los Portugueses!!! </Disclaimer>

This blog entry almost caused me to disrupt an entire breakout session at Tech-Ed this afternoon.

This tells the observer two things about me.

1.  I am sitting in a session that I should, instead, be listening to.
2.   I have no room for sarcasm or humor in my life.

While I’m wasting blog space, I’ve got the need to share another … I’ve filed this one in my “Capitalism Rocks” category.

Commerce Server SP3

The other shoe has dropped.  ServicePack 3 for Commerce Server 2002 has been released.  If you already have Feature Pack 1 installed, you do not need Service Pack 3.  Service Pack 3 includes the same list of fixes that are included in FP 1, but with out the new/revised features.  So, pick your choice of the two.  You should install one of these two packages at your convenience…

Commerce Server 2002 FP1

Yesterday (May 17) was a big day for Commerce Server 2002.  (see internetnews.com, microsoft.com)

The Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 is available as a download for customers and partners. Feature Pack 1 contains

  • New UIs for catalog and discount management
  • Support for multi-environment staging through Application Center
  • Coupon (promotion code) support
  • Catalog sequencing (sort order)

Another important bit of yesterday’s announcement was that the next version of Commerce Server will be released in early 2006.

What kind of features would you like to see in the upcoming versions of Commerce Server?

If you are going to Tech-Ed, and want to give some input to the BizTalk Server team, you will have (probably) more than one chance.

The BizTalk Server User Experience team would like to meet with users to learn what types of Develoepr Guides, Deployment Guides, and other documentation, samples, etc. would be useful for you.  Stories of real customer implementations would also be welcome, if you would like to share your experiences with this team.

Contact Syd Phillips (sydp@microsoft.com) to RSVP, before May 21, 2004.
